When someone is released from WWE that isn't always the end of the story. After all, if someone does a good enough job maintaining their brand they can go out into the world's amazing indie wrestling scene and capture a lot of attention and cash.
Jack Swagger was wished the best in his future endeavors on March 13, 2017, but at least he picked up the WWE World Heavyweight Championship in the process. He since signed with Bellator and has kept training in MMA. But it looks like pro wrestling fans will also get a chance to see Swagger on television, possibly before his debut in Bellator's Heavyweight Division.
The Wrestling Observer Newsletter noted Swagger is to receive a big push on Lucha Underground during their fourth season under the name Jake Strong.
Although it's important to note that the episodes and matches could have been filmed out of order, Swagger wins the Gift Of The Gods Title and then goes on to cash in to win the Lucha Underground Championship with Pentagon Jr.
This could be the jolt to Swagger's pro wrestling career that he needed because Lucha Underground consistently puts out great matches on a regular basis and it's hard not to be on top of your game when you're mixing up with someone like Pentagon Jr. Only time will tell how it all pans out for Jack Swagger and Lucha Underground, but it looks like this could be the beginning of something very cool between the two parties.
