Statement from the family of Shad Gaspard

Former WWE star Shad Gaspard’s wife, Siliana Gaspard, has made her first public comments since the disappearance of her husband on Sunday after going swimming with his 10-year-old son at Venice Beach.

Gaspard was declared missing by police after being pulled by a strong riptide. He told rescuers to take his son right before he was hit with the riptide. We noted earlier on the site that the search efforts by the U.S. Coast Guard for the former WWE star have been suspended. For more on that, click here.

Siliana posted the statement this afternoon on Instagram where she thanked the first responders for rescuing her son, Aryeh. She also thanked other officials who were there searching for her husband.

You can see her full statement here:

“We would like to express our gratitude to the first responders who rescued Aryeh and to the lifeguards, coast guard, divers, fire and police departments for their continued efforts to help find our beloved Shad,” Siliana wrote. “Shad is a fighter, a warrior and a magical soul. We are hoping and praying for his safe return. As a family we thank you all for your concern and well wishes. Please continue to keep sending your positivity and prayers to our beloved Shad. – From The Entire Gaspard & Chittick Family.”
