WWE has released its first statement on former talent Shad Gaspard, who has been missing since Sunday when an incident occurred at Venice Beach.
Gaspard was with his son and a group of swimmers who were caught in a strong current came through on Sunday afternoon.
When the rescuers got to the group, Shad told them to take his son first. Right after this moment, witnesses state that a strong riptide came over Shad, which was when he was last seen.
WWE issued the following statement on Tuesday afternoon:
“WWE’s thoughts are with the family of Shad Gaspard. Please continue to keep them in your thoughts during this difficult time.”

This is the first time that the company has publicly commented on Shad’s disappearance as there was no mention or graphic of him on Monday Night Raw. It was noted on the latest Wrestling Observer Radio episode that the reason for that is due to Shad not being declared dead as at the time, the U.S. Coast Guard was still searching for him in the water.
Gaspard is most known for his run in WWE where he was part of the tag team Cryme Time with his partner, JTG.
It was revealed this afternoon that the U.S. Coast Guard had suspended its search efforts for his body that lasted nearly 24-hours. You can read about the latest on this situation here.
