Steel Cage match with Fastlane title implications set for next week’s WWE SmackDown

WWE has booked a big match for next week’s episode of Friday Night SmackDown.

During today’s edition of Talking Smack on the WWE Network, there was a segment with Paul Heyman and Daniel Bryan where Heyman informed Bryan that he will take on Jey Uso in a Steel Cage Match with the stipulation that if he can win the contest then he will be allowed to challenge Roman Reigns for the Universal Title at the upcoming Fastlane pay-per-view event.

However, if he loses, not only will Bryan have to acknowledge Reigns as the Tribal Chief, but also the very best wrestler on the face of the planet. Bryan accepted the challenge and the title match was booked.

On Friday’s edition of SmackDown, WWE had Bryan and Jey battle it out in a singles match that saw both stars counted out. This came after the opening segment in which Reigns bragged about his quick win over Bryan at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view event.

Right before this title match, WWE booked the SmackDown Chamber match featuring Kevin Owens vs. Bryan vs. Cesaro vs. Jey Uso vs. Sami Zayn vs. Baron Corbin. Because Bryan won the match, he got an immediate Universal Championship match against Reigns.

WWE Fastlane will air on Sunday, March 21st on WWE Network and Peacock.
