Paige has offered a glowing tribute to Stephanie McMahon following her WWE Hall of Fame induction, while McMahon revealed that she was actually raised to believe McMahon family members should never be inducted at all.
Speaking on What’s Your Story, Paige praised McMahon as one of the most positive influences on women throughout her WWE career and questioned why the recognition had taken so long.
“You’ve done so much in your career. Like, you’re very inspiring for women and anyone that’s worked with you, any woman or man, but just speaking from a woman’s perspective here, any woman that’s worked with you have only ever said positive things. You’re very inspirational for a boss. You are so caring, empathetic, you’re understanding, and you stick up for us as women too. You’re an advocate for us and you’ve always been like that and I always appreciated that about you,” Paige said.
McMahon responded by explaining the philosophy she was raised with inside the company regarding her family’s relationship with the Hall of Fame.
“Well, the McMahons were never supposed to be in the Hall of Fame, as I was always brought up. You know, we were characters that were intentionally designed to get other talent over. So it was never about us. And that’s just sort of like ingrained in my brain,” McMahon said.
McMahon was inducted as part of the Class of 2026 at the ceremony on April 17 at Dolby Live at Park MGM in Las Vegas. She is only the second McMahon family member to receive the honor, joining her grandfather Vincent J. McMahon, who was posthumously inducted in 1996. Her three daughters and mother Linda were part of the induction ceremony. Her father Vince McMahon, who resigned from the company in January 2024 in the wake of a sexual abuse lawsuit, was not in attendance.
