Stephanie Vaquer is facing an extended absence from WWE programming with no confirmed timetable for her return.
According to WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select, the former Women’s World Champion is on the shelf for the foreseeable future and no return date is widely known within the company. There were internal rumblings of a minimum six-week absence, though that figure is described as speculative. There is optimism that Vaquer could be back for SummerSlam, but that is not guaranteed at this time.
Vaquer’s injury was confirmed as legitimate by Bryan Alvarez following an angle on Raw in which Raquel Rodriguez and Roxanne Perez, acting alongside Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan, attacked Vaquer backstage. Roxanne Perez rammed an equipment box directly into Vaquer’s shoulder during the segment, with Michael Cole announcing on commentary that she had suffered a second-degree AC sprain and would be out for a bit.
The origin of the injury has not been confirmed, with the possibility existing that it predated the Raw angle and that the attack was designed to write her off television in a way that could be addressed upon her return. The timing adds another difficult layer to what has already been a rough stretch for Vaquer.
She lost the Women’s World Championship to Liv Morgan at WrestleMania 42 night one in a match that Bodyslam reported was kept shorter than planned because both women were already dealing with physical issues heading into the show. A second-degree AC sprain typically requires several weeks to a few months of recovery, depending on the severity and the physical demands of rehabilitation. We wish her a speedy recovery.
