Stephanie Vaquer has quickly made an impact since arriving on the WWE Raw roster earlier this year, and a key part of her presentation is her entrance theme. As it turns out, that theme was almost changed upon her main roster call-up, and the rising star had to advocate for herself to keep it.
During a recent interview with Chris Van Vliet on his “Insight” podcast, the number one contender for the Women’s World Championship shared the story of how she learned of the potential change and went directly to WWE executive Shawn Michaels to make her case.
“I remember when I went to Raw, they wanted to change my music. But I fought hard. I talked to Shawn Michaels and said, ‘Shawn, please, I love my music. I don’t want it to change.’ Shawn said, ‘Okay, let me see what I can do.’”
The decision has clearly paid off, as Vaquer has been on a strong run since her debut on the main roster. She is now set for the biggest match of her career this Saturday, September 20, at the WWE WrestlePalooza Premium Live Event, where she will face Iyo Sky to determine the new WWE Women’s World Champion.
