The Story Behind Gene Snitsky’s Odd ECW Look

On Insight With Chris Van Vliet, Gene Snitsky recalled the bizarre way he was told to change his entire look for his run in WWE’s version of ECW, an order that came directly from Vince McMahon with no explanation.

“It wasn’t really pitched… I’m out at the ring, working out, and Vince was on the way over. I’m like, ‘Hey Mr. McMahon.’ And he’s like, ‘Hey, go home and shave all your hair off, even your eyebrows, and go over to the makeup lady and see if she could get something to make your teeth look nasty.’ I’m like, ‘Okay.’ I wasn’t feeling it, but you don’t tell Vince McMahon no.”

When asked if there was any reason given for the drastic change, Snitsky said there was none at the time.

“No. I guess maybe because of the ECW thing coming up, and he knew they were going to be drafting me to the ECW, that’s the only thing I can think of,” he speculated. “But I literally had to dry paint the s–t on my teeth every night.”
