AJ Styles wants to know what WWE is waiting for with Bron Breakker.
Speaking on The P1 Podcast, Styles made the case that Breakker should be the next WWE World Heavyweight Champion and questioned why the company has not moved on it already.
“How long are we going to wait for Bron Breakker to be Heavyweight Champion? He should be next. I think that he’s definitely a star right now. Why we haven’t put it on him to put the rocket up his butt and send him to the freaking moon? I don’t know why we haven’t done that because he is the destroyer.”
Styles acknowledged the obvious complication, which is that Breakker spent a stretch of the year on the sidelines. Breakker suffered a hernia in February and required surgery, missing close to two months before returning at WrestleMania 42 to attack Seth Rollins during his match with Gunther.
“Yeah, well, he had to get a surgery done or he had a hernia or something. But the fact he was out and now he’s back and he’s even scarier than before. Like let’s go. Let’s freaking do this because we all know that it’s all about the chase. The babyface chasing the heel. Bron Breakker is the heel.”
He also addressed the group Breakker is currently attached to. The Vision has been depleted by injuries this year, with Rollins, Bronson Reed and Logan Paul all missing time, and Styles said he does not see breaking it up as the answer.
“Man, The Vision’s actually coming back together. They’re healing up and they’re coming back together. So, let’s see what we can do with those guys next. I’m not saying you got to split them up. That’s not what I’m saying. I’m just saying, I’d like to see Bron as a Heavyweight Champion, but he’s not in a Heavyweight Championship match at SummerSlam.”
Styles is right on the last point. Roman Reigns defends the World Heavyweight Championship against Rollins at SummerSlam this weekend at U.S. Bank Stadium in Minneapolis. Breakker instead holds the World Tag Team Championship alongside Austin Theory, and the pair are booked in a non-title match against Otis and Akira Tozawa on tonight’s WWE Raw from the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles.
The timing of Styles’ comments is notable given what WWE has just aired about Breakker itself. The current season of the Netflix series WWE Unreal shows members of the creative team advocating for Breakker to win the 2026 Men’s Royal Rumble and challenge for the world title at WrestleMania 42, and shows Paul “Triple H” Levesque declining to go that route. Levesque raised concerns on the show about whether the audience would accept the push and whether it would come across as the company forcing Breakker on fans. Breakker was eliminated from the Rumble in seconds instead, and the hernia followed weeks later.
