SummerSlam 2014 results – NEW WWE CHAMPION BROCK LESNAR

Renee Young, Booker T, Ric Flair, and Alex Riley are on the panel. They gave some predictions. Then they showed a highlight package on the Stephanie McMahon and Brie Bella feud.

Booker T said that Ronda Rousey is in the back and asked “why do you think she’s here?”

Cesaro vs. Rob Van Dam – This might be RVD’s best match since he’s been back. RVD won with the 5 star frog splash. Cesaro went up to the panel area and complained about a fast count. Flair loves Cesaro.

They interviewed the Totino’s Bowl contest winner. The panel gave predictions on Orton vs. Reigns. Flair and Booker T predict Orton.

They showed the Cena vs. Lesnar history package.

SummerSlam

Hulk Hogan kick off SummerSlam – Hogan gets the crowd riled up. He mentions the network. He gets the crowd to chant 9.99. He says that in addition to SummerSlam you get to watch the next 6 WWE pay-per-views for just $9.99. Then he said his trademark “whatcha gonna do” line.

The SummerSlam opening video played.

The Miz vs. Dolph Ziggler – Before the match Miz cut a promo and said that tonight everyone is blessed to be in the presence of a real life non CGI movie star.. a man that possesses something that everyone wishes they had (including Drax and Hercules). He said that tonight he will make Dolph Zigger go from a bright, shiny star to an unrecognizable failure. He will make him the WWE version of the Lakers. They showed Maria Menounos is at ringside. The crowd was really into this match. At one point Miz got the figure four but Ziggler got to the ropes. Miz hit the Skull Crushing finale but Ziggler kicked out. Ziggler finally hit the Zig Zag for the win. NEW INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPION: Dolph Ziggler.

They plugged next month’s Night of Champions. Then they showed the Stephanie McMahon vs. Brie Bella storyline from Monday’s Raw. Tom Phillips interviewed Brie Bella backstage. Brie said that she did a lot of reflecting while she was in jail and said she would smile thinking about the things she did to her sister and smiled thinking about Steph paying Bryan’s physical therapist to lie. She said that she will take out that “she beast” because that’s what’s best for business.

AJ Lee vs. Paige (Divas Championship) – Paige mocked AJ throughout the match and ripped out a lock of AJ’s hair. There was a spot in the match where AJ dove on to Paige from the top rope to the outside of the ring. Paige reversed AJ’s submission finisher and hit a package DDT (called the Rampage) and pinned AJ clean. Winner and NEW DIVAS CHAMPION: Paige. Today is Paige’s 22nd birthday. She gave AJ a kiss on the cheek while AJ was out.

They showed the WWE 2K15 Sting commercial.

Rusev vs. Jack Swagger – Lana told everyone to shut up. She dedicated the match to the world’s greatest reality star and true hero Vladimir Putin. She said Hollywood represents whats wrong with America…a golden fantasy land where you get to play heroes and there’s always a happy ending. She said Rusev represents the cold hard fist of reality and reality means your heroes are failing cowards and there is no happy ending tonight for the USA. She said America’s heroes are failing cowards. American ARMY soldiers marched on stage, fans chanted “USA, USA.”  Swagger came out with the American flag. Rusev attacked before the match started but Swagger got the ankle lock on Rusev. Lana tried to get the match cancelled because of Rusev’s injured ankle but the ref started the match. Swagger broke out of a modified Accolade and locked in the ankle lock. The crowd went nuts for this. Rusev was able to break it though. Rusev finally got the full Accolade on Jack Swagger. Swagger passed out so the referee called for the bell. Rusev wins. After the match Rusev kicked Zeb Colter and knocked him out. As part of the rules the Russian national anthem played while the Russian flag hung from the ceiling.

They showed the Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose history video package.

Seth Rollins vs. Dean Ambrose (Lumberjack match) – They showed Michelle Beadle from ESPN in attendance. They also showed Bill Simmons from ESPN in the crowd. Sin Cara, Kofi RVD, Fandango, Bo Dallas, Heath Slater, Harper, Rowan, Cesaro, Titus O’Neil, Cesaro, Goldust, Stardust, Sandow, Rybaxel, Big E, and The Usos are the lumberjacks. The announcers talked about most of the lumberjacks being attacked by The Shield at one point or another. Kane was out at ringside. Ambrose did a dive to the outside on Rollins and the lumberjacks. They all fell like bowling pins. These guys are having a great match. Ambrose used Rollins curb stomp and went for a pin but Kane broke up the pin. Goldust got in Kane’s face and was punched by Kane. Chaos in the ring with all of the lumberjacks. Finally the ring was cleared. Rollins hit Ambrose with a briefcase while Ambrose was distracted and got the pin. Winner: Seth Rollins.

They showed a Jericho/Wyatt highlight package on their feud. They showed the face to face interview from Monday.

Chris Jericho vs. Bray Wyatt – There were some reversals late in the match. Jericho got the Walls of Jericho locked in on Bray but Bray got to the ropes. Bray then hit a DDT on the apron of the ring. Jericho hit a hurricanrana off the top rope on Bray but he only got a 2 count from it. Jericho hit a code breaker but only got a two count. Bray hit a sister Abigail on the outside of the ring on the barricade. The crowd was split for both guys. Bray hit a sister Abigail on the barricade and in the ring for the win. Bray then grabbed the mic and sung “you’ve got the whole world…”

Stephanie McMahon vs. Brie Bella – Steph is wearing a full body wrestling outfit. Brie went for a dive to the outside but Steph hit her and stopped her in her tracks. Steph did a mock “YES” chant and the fans actually got behind Steph. Steph hit some nices moves. At one point she hit a snap neckbreaker (similar to Mr. Perfect’s move). The crowd chanted “you still got it” at her. Triple H ran down late in the match . Nikki Bella came down after him. Brie countered the Pedigree with the YES lock. Steph was about to tap out but Triple H pulled out the referee. Brie dropkicked Triple H to the floor. Brie and Nikki cornered Steph. Nikki then attacked her sister and helped Stephanie up. Steph hit the Pedigree for the win. Triple H and Stephanie kissed.

They aired the Totino’s Bold commercial and showed the “Show Us Your Superstar” winner.

Randy Orton vs. Roman Reigns – There was a big superplex spot from Orton onto Reigns. The match started out slow but picked up later. Orton slammed Reigns on the announce table and into the steel steps.Reigns later hit a Samoan drop from the top rope. Reigns hit the superman punch and went for the spear but Orton caught him with a scoop powerslam. He got a 2 count. Later Orton hit an awesome looking RKO but Reigns barely kicked out. Orton then went for the punt kick to the head by Reigns escaped and then hit the spear for the win. Winner: Roman Reigns.

They showed the video package hyping the main event.

Brock Lesnar vs. John Cena (WWE Championship) – The match was physical from the start. Brock hit an early F5 just 30 seconds into the match but it was just a two count. Brock hit about 8 German suplexes. He basically dominated the match with punches, suplexes, and knees to Cena’s ribs. Brock was going for another German suplex but Cena got a second wind. Cena managed to hit the AA but Brock kicked out. At one point Brock sat up like The Undertaker in a mocking way. Brock hit a series of 4 suplexes on Cena. Brock then hit a series of 3 suplexes. Brutal stuff. Cena was able to get the STF on Brock but Brock broke it and rained down punches on Cena. Then he hit the F5 for the win. NEW WWE CHAMPION: Brock Lesnar. Brock dominated about 75 percent of the match. The doctors checked on Cena in the ring. Brock delivered a total of 16 German suplexes to Cena during the match.
