Swerve Strickland Responds To Booker T After ‘Bad Habits’ Critique

Former AEW World Champion Swerve Strickland recently responded to Booker T following the WWE Hall of Famer’s comments regarding Je’Von Evans and the “bad habits” Strickland allegedly models. Speaking on his Hall of Fame podcast, Booker T discussed Strickland’s influence on Evans, suggesting the young star needs to distance himself from certain traits.

“I heard Swerve Strickland talk about Je’Von Evans, and Evans probably grew up watching guys like him, and that’s true. So you’ve got to figure out how to get rid of those bad habits,” Booker T stated.

Strickland opted for a marketing-focused response rather than a verbal attack. After Ringside News shared the comments on social media, Strickland re-quoted the post and wrote, “(Trademarks “BAD HABITS”)”. He further used the engagement to promote his AEW X Reebok sneaker collaboration. When a fan suggested that Strickland had influenced more people than the Hall of Famer, Strickland simply replied, “Not true”.

The interaction grew more personal when another fan asked how many shoes Booker T goes through “tap dancing” for WWE. Strickland replied by referencing his own product, stating, “If he needs a new pair he can borrow mine.”

The tension between the two has been building for over a year. During a VladTV interview, Strickland discussed Booker T’s past treatment in WWE, specifically referencing an incident involving a racial slur used by Vince McMahon in front of him. Additionally, Strickland famously led a “F*** Booker T” chant following AEW Dynasty.

While the virtual tension continues, Strickland remains focused on his upcoming schedule, including the fallout from his recent matches. Je’Von Evans, whom Booker T mentioned, continues to receive high praise from veterans, just qualified to compete in the Elimantion Chamber.
