Tessa Blanchard talks WWE leaving her “heartbroken”

Tessa Blanchard is one of the top female indie wrestlers working today and there’s a very good reason for it. Through her time touring around making towns all over the globe she’s picked up championships and plenty of accolades in the process.

But WWE has seemed to be out of reach for the 3rd generation professional wrestler so far. It might have been surprising to some that she wasn’t signed to a deal after her performance in the Mae Young Classic last year or in the time since. Now she’s with Impact Wrestling and has her goal set at making the Knockouts division the best she possibly can.

But when Tessa wasn’t chosen for a WWE contract after her initial tryout years ago, it turns out she took it much harder than some would think.

“After my WWE tryout in 2014, I was like ‘alright, I’m getting signed. I’m going to be there. I’m ready, let’s do this. It’s happening. Everything is happening right now,'” Blanchard said to Busted Open Radio. “When it didn’t happen I was heartbroken. I think it’s because God had a plan for me… If I would have gone and they would have signed me right away, I don’t think I would have had the life experiences or the experiences in wrestling.”

But as it turns out the world of pro wrestling had more in store for her than an NXT contract. Instead, she got a chance to tour the planet and spread her name as one of the best out there.

Now, with her name having even more real estate value she can make bigger moves. Perhaps Blanchard will eventually find her way to WWE even if it takes a little while. But as in most instances like this one, the journey is certainly going to be worth the destination especially considering the amazing story Tessa Blanchard has already been able to tell in the ring.
