Several months ago the WWE made a major announcement in regards to the Women’s Evolution. It was announced that the company would hold its first-ever all-female pay-per-view, appropriately named, Evolution. The show will go down live this weekend from the Nassau Veterans Memorial Coliseum in Uniondale, New York this Sunday, October 28th.
A pair of some of the WWE’s biggest female stars, The Bella Twins (Nikki and Brie), will be on the card. Nikki will challenge Ronda Rousey for the Raw Women’s Title in the main event of the show. Recently, Nikki and Brie took part in a Q&A session at the Ace Comic Con in Chicago.
During the session, Brie explained how she was completely taken aback by WWE’s announcement of Evolution. Initially, she believed the announcement would be in regards to Women’s Tag Team Titles:
“I actually thought they were probably bringing in tag team titles for the women, just because of how everyone was out in the ring and they were speaking,” Brie said. “And I wasn’t expecting an all women’s pay-per-view.
“Look, I have goosebumps just saying it out loud. I was sitting on the couch watching and I was like, ‘wait, what?’ It really made me teary eyed. I was like, ‘wow, this is a really historic moment for WWE.'”
Nikki herself was just as awestruck. She believed that women would get the opportunity to main event a WrestleMania before ever getting their own PPV:
“I was with Brie and I remember we were both floored,” Nikki said. “I mean, I was in shock. I had no idea it was coming either. I thought we might see first women main eventing WrestleMania and then an all women’s pay-per-view, but I love the fact that that [has] come before that. It’s amazing.”
WWE stars and ACE Comic Con alumni Brie Bella and Nikki Bella, aka The Bella Twins, join moderator Lilian Garcia for another exciting WWE panel in Chicago.
