The fans in Chicago might cause problems tonight for WWE and Ronda Rousey

Ronda Rousey will challenge for the Raw Women’s Championship for the first time at tonight’s Money In The Bank pay-per-view. The finish of the match is being kept top secret so there is no way to know if tonight will be Rousey’s coronation as champion or if this is just the start of a long-term feud.

If the plan is for Rousey to get the title, then there might be some resistance from the crowd in Chicago. Several fans on social media that were in attendance last night at NXT Takeover: Chicago, noted that that Rousey was booed when she was shown on the screen when the Money In The Bank commercials played on the big screen. Many of those fans will be in attendance tonight at the pay-per-view and if they react the same way then it would be a problem for WWE.

WWE has no plans to turn Rousey heel. In fact, she is their biggest mainstream star and perhaps, one of the reasons why the FOX network agreed to pay big money for Smackdown Live. Some of the loudest and most passionate wrestling fans live in Chicago. Unfortunately for WWE, once they decide they don’t like someone for whatever reason (in this case, it could be because they think Rousey is undeservedly getting the title shot ahead of full-timers), then they will turn on them.

For WWE’s sake, hopefully, the negative reaction is not too bad because it could turn into an ugly scene if she wins the title and they definitely don’t want her to get the Roman Reigns reaction.

We will have complete Money In The Bank coverage tonight on WrestlingNews.co. Click here for ongoing result starting with the Kickoff show at 7 pm eastern.
