The Hardy Boyz Had Meeting With WWE Officials Today

The Hardy Boyz are seemingly open to returning to WWE or at least exploring that possibility.

Jeff Hardy ended his third WWE run in late 2021 after returning in 2017 on a sour note as he walked out of a match during a live event and was released because he refused to go to rehab. He has stated a drug relapse didn’t cause him to walk out during the match.

Ultimately, WWE tried to bring Jeff back to the company months after the incident and offered to induct him into the WWE Hall of Fame to smooth things over. However, Hardy turned down the offer, waited for his 90-day non-compete to expire, and joined his brother in AEW, something he discussed in a recent interview with Busted Open Radio. Jeff thinks he’s headed towards a Hardy Boyz induction into the WWE Hall of Fame and only wants to go in with his brother Matt Hardy, who departed from WWE in 2020 before going to AEW. Both stars are currently working in TNA.

PWInsider.com reports the legendary tag team met with WWE officials earlier today in Cleveland, Ohio, the site of tonight’s SmackDown and Saturday’s SummerSlam.

The report added that The Hardys “met with WWE very early this morning, and some content was filmed to be rolled out via WWE digital as well.” The brothers are scheduled for this weekend’s TNA tapings.

With TNA and WWE having a working relationship, it’s possible that the Hardys can appear in WWE without signing deals with the company, as the two companies continue to do crossovers.
