As noted earlier, this week’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw kicked off with a graphic that acknowledged the passing of Jon “Brodie Lee” Huber. Nothing else was said about him on the show but Tom Phillips and Drew McIntyre were able to sneak in a “you know what that means” reference and Xavier Woods did a discus clothesline as a tribute to his friend.
There was no 10-bell salute and there was no video package shown for Lee on the show. As of this writing, the only thing posted for Lee on WWE’s YouTube channel is a playlist of some of his matches but there was no tribute dedicated to him like they do for other wrestlers that have passed away.
The lackluster tribute did not go over well with wrestlers and fans. Former WWE star Brian Myers made it clear on Twitter that he was not happy with the little amount of effort from WWE.
Fans will get a bigger tribute to Brodie Lee this Wednesday night on AEW Dynamite. Tony Khan announced today that they have scrapped their original plans for the show and this week’s Dynamite will be dedicated to Lee and they will honor his wife and kids. No 10 bell salute?
No video package?
This man was beloved by his peers & we’re all grieving hard.
This isn’t right. https://t.co/PhZIckKcbm
