The latest on Adam Cole-WWE and how things went at his meeting with Vince McMahon

It was reported in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that Adam Cole’s meeting with Vince McMahon last Friday was said to have gone well. As previously noted, the writing team was told to come up with ideas for him on the main roster.

Dave Meltzer added that, as of last word, Cole has not decided on what he is going to do so it is still possible that he could be done with WWE by SummerSlam weekend. Meltzer added that Cole has a great relationship with Paul “Triple H” Levesque and Shawn Michaels and WWE really wants to keep him.

If Cole decides to stay then he would start on the main roster. There are always exceptions but usually, guys who are Cole’s weight and height typically are not booked as stars so it will be interesting to see if Cole is able to break through the ceiling.

Although there were rumors saying otherwise, Tony Khan has said that he has not made an offer to Cole but one has to assume that AEW will want to offer him a contract after SummerSlam when he’s free and clear.

At NXT TakeOver 36, Cole is scheduled to face Kyle O’Reilly in a two-out-of-three falls match that is basically a version of the Three Stages of Hell match that they first did 20 years ago with Triple H and Stone Cold Steve Austin. In this case, the first fall is a singles match, the second fall would be a Street Fight and if needed, the third fall would happen inside of a steel cage.
