The Miz breaks impressive Intercontinental Title record

Many people have been more impressed with The Miz recently than they ever were before. Not only is he on fire when he holds a microphone but his work in the ring has improved dramatically as well. It might be the amazing combination of the Mizrourage’s assistance as Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel have seemed to experience a career resurgence themselves accompanying their Marine 5: Battleground cast member to the ring. Then again, it could be the fact that The Miz feels more at home than ever thanks to his wife Maryse by his side.

It might be the amazing combination of the Mizrourage’s assistance as Bo Dallas and Curtis Axel have seemed to experience a career resurgence themselves accompanying their Marine 5: Battleground cast mate to the ring. Then again, it could be the fact The Miz feels more at home than ever thanks to his wife Maryse by his side.

Whatever the reason, The Miz is better than ever and shows no signs of slowing down soon. Now the soon-to-be father is looking at the record books and noticing his own name alongside legends from the past.

The Miz makes a great Intercontinental Champion. Bryan Alvarez noted on Wrestling Observer Live a week ago that Mike Mizanin might go down as the greatest IC Champ of all time by the time it’s all said and done. Now there’s, even more, fuel to make that argument as The Miz has surpassed Honky Tonk Man to become the third longest reigning IC Champion of all time.

He wasn’t shy about this accomplishment either as The Miz proudly tweeted it out as soon as the record was his.

Congrats to The Miz for 456 days and counting. If he keeps up at it he might be claiming the #1 spot from Pedro Morales at 619 days soon enough. He’ll have to hold the title a couple more times in order to break Chris Jericho’s record of most times holding the title at 9, but The Miz is working on his 7th title reign right now so that certainly seems doable.
