The Revival burial begins after they declined lucrative WWE contract offer

The Revival

Dave Meltzer has confirmed an earlier report about The Revival turning down a $500,000 per year offer for each person. The deal would have lasted for 5 years which means Scott Dawson and Dash Wilder each turned down $2.5 million.

I reached out to a WWE source and the story was confirmed to me. I was told that The Revival's decision was made because of unhappiness with creative. There are several wrestlers unhappy about promises being broken. Back in January, WWE told wrestlers that there would be a renewed focus on the tag team division with more serious wrestling being a priority. You can argue that things have not changed much since January as teams are regularly trading wins on a week to week basis.

Prior to Raw, Meltzer added that this week's TV might be WWE's reaction to The Revival turning down their offer. On this week's Monday Night Raw, they began to portray Dawson and Wilder as a joke as they were shown in the shower and Wilder was shaving Dawson's back. The segment continued in the arena with The Usos making fun of them for the back shaving.

Later in the show, Wilder and Dawson lost a match to Raw Tag Team Champions Zack Ryder and Curt Hawkins.

Wilder and Dawson's contracts expire in early 2020 so this burial may continue for months until they leave the company. Of course, anything can happen and it's always possible that a deal can be worked out at a later date.

Luke Gallows and Karl Anderson were also on the show and they lost to The Usos. They are expected to leave WWE when their contracts expire in a few months.
