UPDATE: WWE has confirmed that Wilder will be out of action because of a jaw fracture. After suffering the injury, he was sent to the ER to get it looked at, according to NXT medical personnel Dr. Jeff Westerfield.
Westerfield said that “the test came back showing a jaw fracture. As a result, he will be getting his jaw wired [Friday at 9 a.m.] and we are looking forward to him being back on the main roster in about eight weeks.”
This is unfortunate because they got two strong victories over The New Day and they were off to a hot start after debuting on Raw on the night after WrestleMania. They were scheduled to wrestle on their first main roster live events this weekend.
ORIGINAL: Former NXT Tag Team Champion Dash Wilder suffered an injury at the NXT live event on Friday in Spartanburg, South Carolina at the Memorial Auditorium while working a tag team match against Hideo Itami & Shinsuke Nakamura.
Wilder broke his jaw over the weekend and expected to be out of action until early July. Ryan Satin of Pro Wrestling Sheet was the first to report the news. No word yet on if the injury occurred during a match or outside the ring. He did not work Saturday’s NXT event Concord, North Carolina at Cabarrus Arena but was at ringside for the Nakamura & Tye Dillinger vs. Bobby Roode & Scott Dawson tag team match.
We wish Wilder a speedy recovery.
