The Rock praises his daughter for blazing her own path in WWE, open to in-ring return

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson’s daughter, Simone Johnson (Ava Raine), made her NXT live event debut last Friday night by scouting talent. She cut her first promo the following night and called herself “The Final Girl.”

Simone first signed with WWE in February 2020, but this was the first time she was in a feature role at a live event. She has yet to make her television debut.

While speaking to Entertainment Tonight at the premiere of his new film “DC League of Super-Pets,” which is set to hit theaters on July 29, The Rock reacted to her appearances.

“She’s made history, very proud of her. She is fiercely independent, it’s very important for her to make her own way, blaze her own trail, blaze her own path. She doesn’t come to me looking for a lot, which I respect. I’m here watching and supporting,” he said.

The Rock previously praised Montez Ford on Instagram and did so yet again in this interview:

“I love that guy. I love his energy. I love his charisma. I love his work ethic. In the world of pro wrestling, there’s nothing like the world of pro wrestling. It’s very unique, it’s also a business; professional wrestling, WWE, it’s in my blood. It’s my passion, I love it. A guy like him, he’s worked his butt off, and by the way, they all do..but him, in particular, he’s got great athleticism, he’s the total package.”

Finally, The Rock was asked about a potential in-ring return. He said, “Of course, yeah, always open to that. For sure.”

It’s been reported that WWE wants to book The Rock vs. Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 39, but the match has yet to be made as it comes down to The Rock’s schedule.
