The Rock didn’t take someone trying to spread clear false information about his efforts with the Maui Relief fund by using footage of the former WWE champion at the WrestleMania Kickoff press conference this past Thursday.
Presser
At the presser, Cody Rhodes announced he would challenge Roman Reigns for the Undisputed WWE Universal Title at WrestleMania 40. It had been expected that WWE would announce The Rock vs. Reigns at the event instead, which is still planned, while Rhodes had been expected to challenge World Heavyweight Champion Seth Rollins.
The Rock was heavily booed as he slowly turned heel at the press conference amid the pushback from fans regarding him taking Rhodes’ spot. It was a widely praised performance in the storyline arc.
False information
Unfortunately, someone tried to claim that fans were booing The Rock and demanding that he follow through with his promise with the aid for Maui, something set up to support the victims of the Maui fires.
He announced the fund with Oprah Winfrey. He wrote the following on Twitter/X:
I typically refrain from responding to toxic, false clickbait garbage like this because I hate dignifying bullshit with a response, but when you use Hawaii’s tragic events to draw attention to yourself I won’t stay quiet.
