Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson has publicly stated that he and CM Punk have a good relationship despite rumors suggesting otherwise. A video shared on Instagram by a user named allenownz stated that The Rock held negative feelings toward Punk and would prevent him from headlining WrestleMania.
The Rock replied to the video, writing, “First of all, Punk and I have become good buddies over the years. We’re solid. Secondly, whatever match making scenario is best for true long term (not short term) business success- that will be our Mania main event. Lastly, you’re clown.”
The Rock defeated CM Punk to win the WWE Championship at the Royal Rumble in 2013 before beating him a second time at WWE Elimination Chamber 2013 to retain the title. He went on to WrestleMania to face John Cena, where Rock dropped the championship to Cena in their rematch.
Punk will wrestle Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins in a triple threat match at WrestleMania 41.
The Rock recently commented on an IG video that claimed he hated CM Punk and was obstructing him from main eventing WrestleMania.
