Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson recently appeared on The Pat McAfee Show to discuss the events surrounding WWE WrestleMania 41.
According to The Rock, concerns regarding ticket sales for the Elimination Chamber premium live event prompted the need for a compelling storyline to boost interest. He revealed that it was Triple H who ultimately suggested the pivotal idea of John Cena turning heel by attacking WWE Champion Cody Rhodes.
Following the Elimination Chamber, where Cena’s heel turn and alliance with The Rock shocked the WWE Universe, The Rock felt his role as the menacing “Final Boss” in the unfolding narrative had reached its natural conclusion, leading to his subsequent disappearance from television. Despite his absence in the weeks leading up to WrestleMania, many fans speculated that The Rock would make a significant appearance at WWE’s biggest event, given his central role in the preceding storyline. However, The Rock did not appear at WrestleMania 41.
In a swift response to Sirius XM’s Busted Open Radio host Dave LaGreca’s criticism regarding his lack of involvement at WrestleMania, following his own comments on The Pat McAfee Show, The Rock addressed the situation directly on social media, writing the following:
“Hi Dave, the business is a complete work. Always has been, always will be. Every aspect of it. Every match. Every interview. Please join me, Cody, Cena, Brian and the rest of us for our creative discussions so you can expand your perspective. Until then, stop ranting, it’s not healthy my friend. Enjoy the show. P.S., tell Bubba I have Grand Marnier and hush puppies for all of us ”
