The Rock’s “Who Killed WCW?” Docuseries To Premiere This Week On Vice TV

“Who Killed WCW?” docuseries is slated to cover the rise and fall of WCW on Vice TV.

The promotion, founded by Ted Turner in 1988 after his Turner Broadcasting System bought Jim Crockett Productions, shut down in 2001 and was purchased by WWE. The likes of The Rock, Kevin Nash, Eric Bischoff, Konnan, Madusa, and more are interviewed for the docuseries.

The Rock and Dany Garcia, founders of Seven Bucks Productions, will serve as the executive producers alongside their team of Hiram Garcia, Brian Gewirtz, Vice TV’s Lee Hoffman, Evan Husney, and Jason Eisener. It’s produced by Vice Studios Canada in association with Bell Media’s Crave. Danny Gabai, Guillermo Garcia, and Paul Taylor are executive producers for Vice Studios.

The series “Will explore the complex factors that led to the promotion’s downfall, including management challenges, creative decisions, and the intense competition during the infamous Monday Night Wars. It will feature exclusive, in-depth interviews with wrestlers, executives, and insiders and will shed light never seen before on the personal stories and struggles of those who lived through the rise and fall of WCW.”

Seven Bucks Productions previously worked on the “Tales from the Territories” for the network where Rock and Garcia were also executive producers. It’s slated to premiere this Tuesday.
