The Undertaker announces that he will enter the Royal Rumble match

If you missed this week’s episode of Monday Night Raw, then you missed the return of The Undertaker. They did a storyline in the show with Stephanie McMahon telling Mick Foley to find The Undertaker or he would have to face the consequences. They were teasing that McMahon would fire Foley if he could not get Taker on Raw. Foley came out and it seemed like McMahon was about to fire him but Taker came out to his music. Taker started out by proclaiming, “I’m back and I think it’s important that the world should know that I will be entering the Royal Rumble.”

Taker continued his promo and said that he does what he wants and no one (while looking directly in Stephanie McMahon’s face) controls him. He also mentioned that his return on Raw is in the same city where the streak ended but his journey will continue to the Royal Rumble and he has dug 29 holes for 29 souls. Taker also proclaimed that he would return to the main event at WrestleMania and anyone that stands in his way will Rest In Peace.

As we’ve noted before on the site, the rumor is that Taker vs. Cena will headline WrestleMania so if Cena wins the title and Taker wins the Rumble then Taker will be challenging for the WWE Championship at WrestleMania 33. They showed Braun Strowman watching Taker backstage near a monitor.

In addition to The Undertaker, here are the other names announced for the Royal Rumble match so far: Goldberg, Brock Lesnar, Braun Strowman, Chris Jericho, Baron Corbin, Seth Rollins, Big E, Xavier Woods, and Kofi Kingston. The 2017 WWE Royal Rumble takes place on 1/29 from the Alamodome in San Antonio, TX.
