The Undertaker "back in a WWE ring" for this week's Smackdown Live



WWE issued an announcement to hype this Tuesday's Smackdown Live. As previously noted, Edge and The Undertaker are scheduled for the show. They will be celebrating the 900th episode of the show. The WWE announcement states that this will be his first time "back in a WWE ring" since defeating Shane McMahon at WrestleMania. Whether that's just a play on words to hype his appearance or a tease that Taker will get physical is unknown but we'll find out soon enough.

There's no word on what the plans are for Taker at WrestleMania but his return probably means that he will be wrestling at least one more match. The company is expecting a nice ratings bump for this show.Here is the official announcement from WWE:

WWE’s SmackDown Live will air its landmark 900th episode tomorrow, Tuesday, November 15 at 8pm ET/PT live on USA Network with special appearances by WWE Superstar The Undertaker and WWE Hall of Famer Edge®.

The episode marks The Undertaker’s first time back in a WWE ring since he defeated SmackDownLive Commissioner Shane McMahon earlier this year inside Hell in a Cell at WrestleMania 32 in front of more than 101,000 fans at AT&T Stadium. WWE Hall of Famer and SmackDown legend Edge will return to host his always memorable talk show, “The Cutting Edge.”

At 900 episodes, SmackDown is the second longest-running weekly episodic program in U.S. television history, only behind Monday Night Raw which has aired 1,225 episodes.
