While doing an interview with Barstool Sports, The Undertaker was asked about the dream match between him and Sting.
This is a match that fans have talked about for years and Sting has been a big supporter of the idea. According to Taker, he never talked to Sting about it.
“Not a one, I knew him, I was in WCW in 89, I knew him there, and then I really didn’t see him until he came here.”
Taker talked about how things started to steamroll in regards to buzz among fans about the potential match when Sting joined WWE.
“Yeah, there were never…we never called each other, ‘hey would you like to do this super match, mega match’ or whatever. My schedule was always full…there were always guys waiting.”
Taker thinks it will be a match that people look at like what would have happened if Mike Tyson and Muhammed Ali ever fought each other. He noted that it’ll be a match that people want to see but it didn’t happen.
“To be completely honest at this point, it would have been cool in the 90s or early 2000s. There’s a reason the Last Ride came about and I called it a day.” He admitted that he still has a passion in his heart to wrestle again, his body isn’t where it needs to be and he doesn’t want to be a watered-down version of himself.
