The Undertaker has finally cleared up a long-standing rumor on his fear of cucumbers. Yes, that is something that has been reported on in the last few years.
During an interview on Barstool Sports’ Pardon My Take, Taker cleared things up and confirmed that he is not actually scared of them but he doesn’t like to eat them. The story comes from an interview Paul Bearer gave in 2013 shortly before his death. He said, “He cannot stand cucumbers… I saw The Undertaker throw up all over a waffle house because there was a cucumber floating in his iced tea.”
Bearer speculated that his fear of cucumbers may have something to do with his mother forcing him to eat cucumbers as a kid or something along those lines.
Here is what Taker said this week:
“OK, let’s get this straight. We’ve had a good conversation. I’m not scared of cucumbers. I just don’t like cucumbers,” Taker said.
Taker was also asked to confirm or deny if he would run out of the room “like a little kid” at the sight of cucumbers. He said, “I’ll probably leave the room. I’m not gonna run. If they’re whole, that’s one thing. If they’re cut up, whew.”
So why is this a story? Because of his new documentary, Taker has broken kayfabe in a big way in recent weeks so it’s not every day you hear stories like this about The Deadman.
Chapter 3 of “Undertaker: Last Ride” airs this Sunday on the WWE Network.
