WWE has begun preliminary plans for the WWE Draft in late August/early September.
On Friday night before SmackDown, they had Karrion Kross and Bronson Reed wrestle dark matches so Vince McMahon could take a look at them to see if they are ready to be moved up to the main roster. In Kross’ case, it seems like a move to the main roster is coming within the next couple of months.
Ringside News is reporting that a preliminary list of Superstars have been compiled for the WWE Draft and some of the names that are listed are interesting.
It was noted that some of their legends and part-time wrestlers were on the list including Goldberg, who is likely to return this year for WWE’s show in Saudi Arabia. It was also noted that Brock Lesnar’s name is not on the list. As noted earlier, Lesnar has not signed a deal to return to WWE so anyone saying that Bobby Lashley vs. Lesnar is happening is just speculating at the moment. Of course, Lesnar and WWE could come to terms at any moment and the match could be added to the SummerSlam plans. RSN is reporting that the creative team has been told that there are currently no plans for Lesnar to return.
RSN also reported that for some reason, The Undertaker is listed on the internal list of names for the Draft but it was noted that he is listed as not being available for any brand.
In regards to Taker, WrestlingNews.co was told a few months back that Taker is still wanted for occasional surprise appearances. There were pitches made for Taker to come in and hit a tombstone at this year’s WrestleMania just to give the fans something extra. Obviously, that did not happen but the door is open for Taker to come back and make the occasional surprise appearance in full character while not having him wrestle and take bumps.
