It looks like the rumors about Stephanie McMahon’s “historic announcement” in regards to the women on the roster are true.
Pro Wrestling Sheet reports that the women of Smackdown Live were told to be at Monday Night Raw in Ohio for her announcement. The women on the blue brand did not have much time to prepare because they were reportedly told this afternoon.
It’s very likely that no one in the company was told beforehand what McMahon will say because they don’t want anything to leak out. However, we first reported back in April that there has been talk about an all-women’s pay-per-view and there has been talk of introducing Women’s Tag Team Titles. When McMahon announced plans for the Women’s Royal Rumble, it was news to the women in the ring because they were not told beforehand. That is likely to be the case tonight.
We’ll see how things play out tonight on Raw. We were also told that the all-women’s show will include Superstars from NXT.
