The wrestling world remembers Owen Hart

The wrestling world has remembered the late great Owen Hart as today (May 23, 2019) marks the 20th anniversary of his death.

Tragedy struck when Hart, under his Blue Blazer moniker, was doing his entrance from the ceiling of the Kemper Arena in Kansas City for the WWE Over The Edge pay-per-view event where he was supposed to challenge The Godfather for the Intercontinental Championship.

This was an entrance style like Sting had done for years but it did not go as planned. The harness Hart used malfunctioned as he flew down from the top of the arena and he fell to his death at the age of 34.

WWE decided to go on with the show which was controversial as fans in attendance did not know of Hart’s passing and WWE had Jim Ross make the announcement on the broadcast to fans watching at home.

Hart was a tremendously talented wrestler and also a great person who had plenty of friends in the wrestling business. Today, those friends and family members took to social media to remember him:
