Theory made history at WWE Money in the Bank

Theory had a busy Saturday night at the WWE Money in the Bank event as he worked two matches.

Earlier in the night, Theory lost the United States Title to Bobby Lashley. He was later added by on-screen WWE authority figure Adam Pearce to the men’s Money in the Bank ladder match alongside

Theory ended up winning the match and was awarded the MITB briefcase. He can cash in the contract anytime within the next year for a shot at Roman Reigns’ Undisputed WWE Universal Title.

The WWE Stats Twitter account noted that Theory made history by becoming the first star to lose a title and win the MITB briefcase on the same night. He also became the sixth contract winner that was competing in the Money in the Bank Ladder Match for the very first time.

As noted on the broadcast, Theory is also the youngest MITB winner in history. Reigns will make his next title defense against Brock Lesnar at SummerSlam later this month in a last man standing match.
