There Are People At The Top In WWE Who Expect The Rock To Wrestle At WWE WrestleMania 41

The premiere episode of WWE Raw on Netflix will be held on January 6th at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, and there may be a surprise appearance by The Rock. His WWE WrestleMania 41 status remains in the air, although it’s possible that the Netflix debut could tip his hand on whether he plans to wrestle at this year’s Mania.

For months, it has been believed that WWE still plans to do Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes vs. Rock at WrestleMania 41, with the idea of doing Rock vs. Roman Reigns at a later date. Rock’s last appearance came at Bad Blood in October.

However, this past December, Chris Featherstone and later Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful reported that WWE has opted to move forward with its creative plans as if The Rock will not be at WrestleMania 41.

The plans can change anytime, and WWE will be interested in using him if he becomes available. It was reported that WWE is planning a John Cena vs. Rhodes match at WrestleMania 41.

In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported that there are people in WWE who expect Rock to wrestle at Mania, but it’s not a sure thing.

Meltzer wrote, “At first it was the Raw title given Rhodes vs. Rock would be for the other title and People’s belt. This isn’t etched in stone because whatever Rock wants to do, he’s likely going to be able to do. I do know that people are expecting him to appear on the show in some form. As for wrestling on the show, I even know people at the top who are expecting that, but it’s not a sure thing and one would think the Netflix show on 1/6 will kick off the season and tip the hand. Rock could do another match even though WWE title vs. People’s title was what he wanted after Mania.”
