Original: WWE fans shouldn’t expect to see Alexa Bliss make a surprise appearance at tonight’s Royal Rumble. PWInsider.com first reported initial plans for Bliss to return on Raw in San Jose several weeks ago. Contract talks stalled, nixing plans.
It comes down to Bliss’ side thinking she should get a new deal while WWE wants her to work under the agreement she had been under before taking maternity leave in January 2023. In the latest edition of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Dave Meltzer reported the two sides are far enough apart that people don’t expect a deal to be made.
PWInsider.com reports that as of this morning, Bliss wasn’t in town for the Royal Rumble. Last night, she attended a concert event where her husband, singer Ryan Cabrera, was performing in Orlando, Florida.
Per the report, they were told as of this morning, “there had been no movement between Bliss and WWE in their impasse over her return.” It was added that there has been no talk in WWE about her returning tonight.
