There is more heat on Lio Rush, according to the Wrestling Observer Newsletter.
This is not new. There’s been heat on Rush ever since he signed with WWE in 2017. In fact, there was talk that he would be released after he made light of Emma’s firing. Many wrestlers took issue with him but his immediate apology may have saved his job.
Dave Meltzer noted how Rush was not with Bobby Lashley this week when Lashley wrestled in a dark match.
The thing with Rush is he is very confident and it rubs some people the wrong way because they perceive his confidence (or overconfidence) as being arrogant. Meltzer added that the story backstage on Rush is that he has made it very clear to many people that he thinks he should be a/the top guy on the Raw brand and he’s not shy about saying that.
The reason why Rush was moved to 205 Live to the Raw brand is that Vince McMahon was impressed with promos Rush was doing on his own on social media. His verbal skills have helped to keep him around but that could change if the heat on him does not subside.
