Despite an advertisement that lists Randy Orton for tonight’s episode of WWE Monday Night Raw, it does not look like he will be appearing tonight.
PWInsider reports that there is no sign of Orton backstage at tonight’s show in Chicago.
Orton’s status is a mystery since the company has not said anything about his absence. He hasn’t appeared on Raw since June 15 but last week when Matt Riddle was being attacked by AJ Styles and Omos, there was a subtle tease that someone could run out to save him, and presumably, that person would be Orton.
Riddle is scheduled to face Omos tonight on Raw and it looks like they are setting up Riddle and a tag team partner (possibly Orton) to face Omos and AJ Styles for the Raw Tag Team Titles at SummerSlam.
It’s possible that WWE has decided to hold off on Orton’s return another week.
Tonight’s Raw will also feature an appearance from Goldberg and Raw Women’s Champion Nikki A.S.H. will face Charlotte Flair for the third straight week.
