The wrestling world is buzzing with talk about the future of one of its biggest legends, Chris Jericho. A new report from Dave Meltzer on Wrestling Observer Radio has detailed a “lot of talk” happening backstage in both WWE and AEW about the possibility of the former champion making a return to WWE when his AEW contract expires later this year.
‘Lots Of Talk’ About A Chris Jericho WWE Return
According to the report, there is a significant amount of discussion about Jericho’s future in WWE. “There’s been a lot, a lot of talk about WWE….I know from the WWE standpoint that there is a lot of talk there about Jericho. You know, people speculating [the] Royal Rumble. Nobody has officially said anything, nor will anyone officially say anything.”
Chris Jericho’s AEW Contract Status
His status with the company has been a topic of discussion, as he has not been seen on AEW programming since he was written off of television in April. This extended absence, combined with his recent “liking” of a social media post discussing a potential WWE return, has fueled the speculation. Jericho’s touring commitments with his band, Fozzy, are now finished for the time being, which would free up his schedule for a potential full-time return to the ring.
