There Is A Massive Demand For Tickets To John Cena’s Retirement Match

The demand to witness the final match of John Cena’s legendary career is reaching unprecedented levels. According to WrestleVotes, just minutes after tickets went on sale for the December 13 Saturday Night’s Main Event, there were over 45,000 people in the Ticketmaster virtual queue attempting to secure a seat. WrestleOps noted that they saw the queue get up to nearly 60,000.

This number is roughly three times the capacity of the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C., where the historic event will take place. The demand has already sent ticket prices on the secondary market soaring, with the current cheapest available ticket listed at around $200.

While WWE has not yet officially announced his opponent, Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter has reported that GUNTHER has been chosen as Cena’s final opponent. The potential matchup pits one of the greatest of all time against one of the most dominant in-ring performers of the modern era in a classic “passing of the torch” bout.

John Cena’s retirement tour has been a major focus of WWE programming throughout 2025. The farewell run has seen him compete in a series of high-profile matches, including an encounter with Brock Lesnar at Wrestlepalooza and a program with Cody Rhodes that saw them trade the Undisputed WWE Championship. He currently has only a handful of dates remaining on his schedule.

Cena is coming off a win over AJ Styles at the Crown Jewel premium live event. He has appearances on Raw from Boston and MSG lined up and a reported match at Survivor Series on November 29.
