The talk surrounding a potential return to WWE for AEW original Chris Jericho continues to intensify. A new report from WrestleVotes has confirmed that there is “significant interest” from within WWE, including from active talent, in seeing the legendary superstar come back to the company.
“Significant Interest” in a Chris Jericho WWE Return
On the latest episode of WrestleVotes Radio, people within WWE expect a deal to be made once Jericho’s AEW contract expires.
“We can confirm, after speaking to our sources, that there is significant interest in Chris Jericho coming back to the WWE once his AEW contract would allow him to do so,” WrestleVotes reported. “We’re told that several within the WWE, including Active talent, would like to see him return to the company.”
A WWE Deal Expected To Be Completed
Despite spending the last six years as a member of All Elite Wrestling, the report states that Jericho has remained on good terms with many in WWE. Sources reportedly believe a deal is likely.
“Despite spending the last six years with AEW, Jericho has remained friendly with a number of people inside WWE, we are told, and according to that source, they ultimately do expect a deal to be completed once Chris is legally able to do so,” the report continued.
Jericho’s current contract with AEW is reportedly set to expire at the end of 2025. He has been absent from AEW television since April.
