There was supposed to be a title change at the Elimination Chamber PPV, WrestleMania storyline scrapped

There were big things planned for Lacey Evans before she found out that she would be taking time off for her pregnancy.

Fightful reports that there were plans for Evans to win the Raw Women’s Championship from Asuka at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. According to the report, Evans would have continued feuding with Charlotte Flair through at least WrestleMania. The current plan is for Asuka to defend against Flair at Mania.

Evans will be out of action for most of the year, if not the remainder of the year. Ric Flair was sent home (in the storyline and on TV by his daughter) so it’s possible that they won’t revisit the storyline when Evans returns.

Evans did an interview on The Bella Twins podcast where she talked about the guilt associated with the angle being scrapped because it forced WWE to switch around their plans. Click here for more on what Evans said during her interview.
