WWE Women’s Champion Tiffany Stratton has responded to criticism from some fans regarding the length of her championship match against Jade Cargill at the SummerSlam premium live event. Stratton defended the seven-minute bout, stating that she felt it was all the time they needed.
Tiffany Stratton On Her SummerSlam Match Length
Speaking on The Babyfaces podcast, Stratton addressed the fan criticism. She explained that because the storyline with Cargill wasn’t a major “blood feud,” a longer match was not necessary.
“I feel like we didn’t have this like insane life or death story going into SummerSlam, so I didn’t really feel like we needed — like you said — an insane 40-minute long match,” Stratton said. “I thought it was a very competitive match, it was very fast. And I think that’s all we really needed. So I’m actually really pleased with how my match went at SummerSlam with Jade Cargill.”
A Nervous Tiffany Stratton At SummerSlam
Stratton also admitted to being very nervous heading into the show, as it was her first time competing at a SummerSlam. “Going into SummerSlam, I was so nervous. It was my first SummerSlam ever,” she said. “So that alone was just so nerve-wracking. But, thankfully, I pulled through and I beat Little Miss Jade Cargill.”
On the podcast, she also named Rhea Ripley and Becky Lynch as two dream opponents she hopes to face in the future. The full interview with Tiffany Stratton can be heard on The Babyfaces podcast.
