Tiffany Stratton: ‘I Feel Like For The Past Year, I Was Kind Of Stale’

Tiffany Stratton has revealed that she plans to return to her more villainous roots, admitting that her character had become “kind of stale” over the last year. During a recent appearance on the No Contest Wrestling podcast, the former WWE Women’s Champion discussed the current state of her persona and why she believes a shift back to being a traditional heel is necessary for her growth on the main roster.

When asked about her current alignment as a babyface or a heel, Stratton was candid about her desire to bring more “spunk” back to her televised appearances.

“I feel like for the past year, I was kind of stale. I felt like there weren’t any crazy storylines after I won the title, and I kind of want to bring back some spunk. So we’re going to be even more heelish Tiffany. We’re going to play around with some things. So I’m excited for that,” Stratton explained.

The “Center of the Universe” noted that while she has been performing as a babyface recently, she finds the role’s restrictions somewhat limiting compared to the freedom she experienced during her time in developmental. Stratton specifically highlighted her tenure in NXT as a period where she felt most comfortable in her own skin as a performer.

“I miss how my character was down in NXT. I do miss being a heel. I love being a heel and wrestling as a heel. I feel like right now I wrestle as a babyface. I love to just be free. As a heel, I feel more like I can be free and just kind of be like full Tiffy, whereas kind of right now I reel it back. I do miss wrestling as a heel, doing backstages and promos as a heel. I would say that’s the biggest thing that I miss in NXT,” she added.

Looking toward the remainder of 2026, Stratton expressed a desire to be part of a narrative that allows the audience to become deeply invested. “I hope to hopefully get a really good storyline, one where people can really sink their teeth into it. I feel like I’m kind of missing that right now,” she noted.

Stratton will have an opportunity to kickstart that new direction this Saturday, February 28, at Elimination Chamber in Chicago. She is set to compete inside the steel structure at the United Center against Rhea Ripley, Alexa Bliss, Asuka, Kiana James, and Raquel Rodriguez. The winner of the match will secure a championship opportunity at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas.
