During tonight’s WWE NXT Battleground PLE, Tiffany Stratton defeated Lyra Valkyria in the tournament finals to become the new WWE NXT Women’s Champion.
Notes courtesy of Michael Schrute:
Valkyria leapfrogged Stratton, but didn’t quite clear her and she grazed the top of Stratton’s head and landed awkwardly on her left foot. Stratton picked up Valkyria outside the ring and rammed her knee against the ring post. Inside the ring, Stratton pulled Valkyria’s kneepad off and continued to work on her left knee. Valkyria came off the top rope onto Stratton who rolled her over and picked her up and gave her a Samoan Drop, but Valkyria followed through with the fall and rolled her up for a near fall. Valkyria tried to powerbomb Stratton off the top rope, but Stratton held on to the ropes and gave her a Hurricanrana and followed it with a forward role. Stratton came off the top rope with the moonsault and pinned Valkyria to win the vacant title.
