Title match pulled from WWE Evolution?

WWE has apparently made a change to the line-up for Sunday’s WWE Evolution pay-per-view.

If you don’t want spoilers on the NXT UK Women’s Championship situation then you should stop reading here.

A few months ago when WWE announced plans for the Evolution show, they announced that all women’s titles would be defended and that included the NXT UK Women’s title. Rhea Ripley was crowned as the first NXT UK Women’s Champion at tapings that took place in August. The problem is that the match has yet to air so, technically, there is no champion yet according to the NXT UK TV show and they have not said anything about Ripley defending the title on Sunday. Ripley would have defended the title against Isla Dawn.

The NXT UK Women’s title is not listed on the match line-up on WWE.com so, unless something changes in the next few days, it looks like the match has been scrapped. The reason for this could be because they are so far behind on the weekly NXT UK show. WWE had plans for these shows to air earlier but their talks with Sky TV fell through.

Here is what is advertised for Sunday’s Evolution pay-per-view:

Raw Women’s Champion Ronda Rousey will defend against Nikki Bella

– Smackdown Women’s Champion Becky Lynch will defend against Charlotte Flair in a Last Woman Standing Match

– Trish Stratus and Lita vs. Mickie James and Alexa Bliss (note: Bliss might not be cleared to wrestle by Sunday. Click here for more)

– NXT Women’s Champion Kairi Sane vs. Shayna Baszler

– Sasha Banks, Natalya and Bayley vs. The Riott Squad

– Toni Storm vs. Io Shirai in the finals of the Mae Young Classic tournament

– Battle royal to determine who will get a future Women’s title opportunity
