Tito Santana Names CM Punk As His Current WWE Dream Opponent

The following was sent to us:

WWE Hall of Famer Tito Santana spoke with Joel Torres (Contralona) about being part of the WWE 2K25 new DLC Pack: Saturday Night’s Main Event which includes Jesse ‘The Body’ Ventura, Junkyard Dog, Sid Justice, Paul Orndorff and himself.

Tito Santana on being part of WWE 2K25: “I’ve said this before because, for many years, WWE never included me in video games, and fans would ask me, ‘When are you going to be in a video game, Tito?’ And finally, now. For me, wrestling is bigger than ever, and now I’m going to be in a video game. I can’t even explain the pride I feel right now. I feel very proud and grateful because I’m finally going to see myself in a video game.”

Tito Santana on WWE at his peak: “What I like most is what the wrestlers do in the ring today. It’s so dangerous; they’re wrestlers and gymnasts. I don’t know why they don’t come out more beaten up than they do, but with what they do, they put their careers on the line in front of all the fans every night.”

Tito Santana on the WWE and AAA merger: “Now fans all over the world are going to see the kind of wrestling AAA has, the kind of wrestling they’ve always done in Mexico. For me, they were ahead of their time, what Mexican wrestlers were doing in the ring. I’m proud to be a part of this and to be Mexican, and I thank the new WWE.”

On the huge ovation he received in Barcelona in 1991 when he faced The Undertaker: “I’ve watched that match many times, and what The Undertaker did for me that night was amazing. They gave me the key to Barcelona, the Barcelona government treated me like a king, and I felt exactly like a celebrity because I didn’t know how the fans were going to receive me. But when I entered the ring and saw how the fans responded, and how they responded when I beat The Undertaker, it was the same noise you heard when (Hulk) Hogan won here in the United States. It’s something you never forget.”

WWE 2K25 Dream Match: Tito Santana in his prime, which current WWE wrestler would he face?: “The one I know best is CM Punk. Although we have the same style, almost the same style, a little different, but I would have liked to have had that match. I’m too old to do that now, but in my mind, I definitely think I would have had a very good match against him.”
