TNA Reportedly Interested In Recently Departed WWE Star

More backstage details have emerged regarding the recent departure of Ashante “Thee” Adonis from WWE, whose contract officially expired on August 10. The new report from Fightful Select sheds light on his final year with the company and his status as a free agent.

Ashante ‘Thee’ Adonis’s Contract Expiration

The report confirms that Adonis’s exit was a case of his contract not being renewed, rather than a release. He was reportedly informed a couple of weeks prior that his deal would be allowed to expire. As his contract has officially ended, he is immediately able to take bookings on the independent circuit and is not under a 90-day non-compete clause.

High Praise For Adonis From NXT Peers

Despite spending his final year in NXT, Adonis reportedly remained on a WWE main roster contract. Sources in NXT who spoke to Fightful gave him a “lot of praise internally,” noting his strong work ethic, his constant efforts to improve, and the fact that he was training on his own time in addition to his work at the Performance Center.

Adonis, also known as Tehuti Miles, is now free to work anywhere. The report notes that there is already interest from some within TNA Wrestling in bringing him in for appearances. He previously wrestled for TNA in a one-off match in January of this year. The full report can be found on Fightful Select.
