Tommaso Ciampa: ‘creatively, I’m not very hard to please’

Tommaso Ciampa did it all in WWE NXT from working his way up the card to hold the top prize, the NXT Championship, two times.

While speaking to Alistair McGeorge of Metro, Ciampa made it known that he isn’t worried about being creatively fulfilled and not hard to please when it comes to creative.

“Creatively, I’m not very hard to please in the sense that I just view it as, ‘Give me five minutes and I’ll make it the best five minutes I can,’ whatever that means. Whatever I’m asked to do. If comedy is in my future, whatever it is, I just look at it like, there’s no ending to this. So, if I do comedy for a couple of months, it doesn’t mean after that I can’t go back and do something else I might enjoy. There’s no ending.”

Ciampa recalled doing comedy segments during matches while working in PWG and how some of his most famous times in wrestling came from those matches. Whether it was from singing or slow-motion wrestling. Although he considers doing that in his past, he looks back on them fondly and it’s just the entertainment part of the business that he loves. Ciampa said to him it’s what pro wrestling is and there’s no definition of it.

Ciampa finished up his run in WWE NXT at Stand & Deliver when he lost to Tony D’Angelo. He was officially moved to WWE Raw on Monday where he did a segment with Kevin Owens and Ezekiel.

Prior to his official main roster call-up, WWE did use him a few times on Raw. The company changed up his theme music and while that upset some fans, Ciampa issued a statement at the time noting that he likes the new song and loves the message behind it.
