Tommy Dreamer talks about Mr. Wrestling II running into Jim Cornette without his mask

Tommy Dreamer and Dave LaGreca acknowledged the passing of legendary wrestler Mr. Wrestling II on today’s Busted Open Radio.

Mr. Wrestling II never took his mask off, always kayfabe, with Dreamer telling this story: “I remember talking to Jim Cornette. He was in a Walmart. This older gentleman kept saying, hey Jimmy, hey Jimmy. Cornette was thinking he was going to have to fight somebody in a Walmart. Here it was Mr. Wrestling II without his mask. They were 20 miles outside of a town. He had worked a program with him for almost a year and did not know what the guy looked like. He would shower with the mask. He would be old school with that mentality, keeping his identity secret.”

Dreamer and LaGreca went over their opinion of the Top 5 wrestling matches of all time. Dreamer based it on wrestling with no gimmicks matches. LaGreca based it on long-lasting memories.

Dreamer:

5) Bret vs Owen at WrestleMania

4) Dean Malenko vs Eddie Guerrero in their last match in ECW

3) Ricky Steamboat vs Randy Savage

2) Sting vs Ric Flair at the first Clash of Champions

1) Okada vs Omega at Wrestle Kingdom 11

LaGreca:

5) Magnum T.A vs Tully Blanchard I Quit match at Starrcade 85

4) Okada vs Omega at Wrestle Kingdom 11

3) Flair vs Steamboat at the Clash of Champions

2) Flair vs Steamboat at Wrestle War

1) Flair vs Terry Funk I Quit Match
