Tommy Dreamer Talks WWE Needing To Look At The ‘Long Haul’

Former WWE/ECW Superstar Tommy Dreamer recently commented on WWE’s recent shows in the Performance Center. The IMPACT Wrestling agent was looking at how the perception of someone like a Becky Lynch has to be looked at by WWE creative extremely carefully. Especially as without the reaction of a live audience there is nothing to gauge her perception with the fans.

Tommy Dreamer on Becky Lynch

“And I understand that it’s like you said there, there’s nobody there. But eventually there will be people there, and you don’t want as soon as the world gets back to normal, to have Becky Lynch walk out there and all of a sudden people boo” Dreamer began on the latest episode of Busted Open Radio.

“Like I said it’s eventually going to change. And then, you know, you have to get asses in seats.”

“This [situation] can change at any time. So, you know with how the world is going? You have to always look long haul because, as much as I’m enjoying this new atmosphere in society and professional wrestling? Like I said it’s eventually going to change. And then, you know, you have to get asses in seats.”

“And that’s not just going to happen because ‘oh professional wrestling is back.'”

Tommy Dreamer would finish by discussing how important it is for pro wrestling to be engaging at this time and to be drawing crowds in once that is again possible. “And that’s not just going to happen because ‘oh professional wrestling is back.’ It’s going to happen because the talent will keep on working the way they do, but it’s also up to creative to step up and say, ‘here’s my star now, here’s my future.’ As it’s always been. Even though there’s no asses in seats right now. That’s how everyone is going to have to survive after all this stuff that’s going on.”
